Greetings All....

Thought I'd better work on a little life story for the school records.

My family moved away from SLC just 4 days after graduation. We moved to Bellevue WA, just outside of Seattle. I went to Pacific Lutheran University, in Tacoma, and graduated with a BFA in Communications. I had thought to major in theater but got my foot caught in the door in the television studio on campus, and I never looked back.
After graduation from PLU I still had to go back to a tech school to get an FCC First Class license, required at the time for broadcast engineers. Once I had that I could almost write my own ticket to work.
My first job was at KATU in Portland, OR. I was there for 8 years and absolutely loved living in Portland. Sometimes I wish I had never left, but I needed a little adventure and headed off to Miami.
I landed a great job at WPLG in Miami. Managed to play there for 23 years. I have seen many reporters, anchors, producers, news directors come and go, many of them onto great network positions. Miami is a whole different world. A good experience, but am now glad I am somewhere else. I miss the colors, the food and my friends, but not the heat, humidity and hurricanes.
Now I'm in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area working at KTVT. Still love what I do and hope to be able to keep doing it for a few more years. Then I hope to have a B&B somewhere out on the Oregon coast. (one can always dream). We moved here to be closer to family. My brother and his family live here and we moved our folks here as well. So it has been the first time in 30 years that I live in the same place as family, kinda fun.

I didn't marry till I was 50, and have no children, (too long of a story to go into at this point, and probably boring). I had breast cancer 11 years ago and am doing just fine now.
My husband, Steve Satterwhite, is a world class photographer and a darn good music producer. He is pretty much retired from photography and is moving deeper and deeper into music as he connects with more and more musicians from around the country.

I have a tendency to take many of my vacations up in NYC, mainly in Manhattan, specifically on Broadway. My deep love for theater was born in Mr. Vuyk's drama classes and on stage at Hillcrest. From "My Fair Lady", and "Teahouse Of The August Moon" to Ola DeSpain's original "Windchimes". I really got the bug, but knew I was no actress. When I head to NY, I do a week's worth of shows, embellished with lots of exquisite food and beverage.
And, it is because of my next trip to NY that I won't be able to come to the June reunion, but I'll be thinking about everyone and hopefully someone can post some pictures.

I was just looking though our yearbook and realized that I still have my brooch from our ACapella dresses.
What fun we all had......

I think your idea to have our 50th at homecoming so we can all put to rest our all our high school nightmares is a great idea!!! At the 45th reunion picnic, Sterling was commenting on the huge expense and time involved in letting us have the school for the evening. Good to know you are still being the creative and fun person I enjoyed so much in high school. much love to you... Joy

Crys , it was so nice to hear your story and see some of your comments on Toms page. You look just the same, only a different hair style. I am just blown away by the many creative people that we went to school with. Looks like you are one of them. I love New York, have only been once, took a trip with my granddaughters drama group for 4 days and had the most wonderful adventure. I too hold warm memories of Mr. Vuyke's class and our drama production our Junior year. It has been fun watching my granddaughters carry on the family interest so to speak. Enjoy yourself,Blessings always, Terri
