Glenn Gordon Stohel

Glenn Gordon Stohel passed away peacefully on August 28, 2016 surrounded by his family.   Glenn suffered for many years from Lewy Body’s Dementia before passing away in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.  Glenn was born on June 19, 1951 in Ogden, Utah to John Lee Stohel and Conna Durfee.  In 1969, Glenn graduated from Hillcrest High School.   He then served a full-time, LDS mission in Tokyo, Japan.   On July 18, 1974, Glenn married his sweetheart DeeAnn Jones.  Glenn had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ, and loved to serve those around him.  He worked for many years as an IT software manager and retired from the Utah State Department of Corrections.  He loved to work and play with computers.  He also spent a lot of time cross-stitching, making bobbin lace, crocheting, and making other types of handiwork.  Glenn loved to visit, play with, and watch the achievements of his children and grandchildren.

Glenn is preceded in death by his father, John Lee Stohel, and his infant son, Jeremy Adam.  Glenn is survived by his wife, DeeAnn Jones Stohel, his children, Mark, Emily (Justin) Maddocks, Laura (Tim) Tripp, and Jonathan (Rhonda) Stohel; 18 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson.  He is also survived by his mother, Conna Brown; and siblings John, Reed, Michael, and Randall.

There will be a viewing at Holladay-Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Dr., on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 6-8 pm.  Funeral services will be held at the Holladay Stake Center, 4917 S. Viewmont Street, on Friday September 2, 2016 at 11 am.  A viewing will be held at the same location from 9:45-10:45 am.  Interment will be at the Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy, Utah.  We would like to thank our family and friends for all of their love, support, and prayers.  We would also like to thank the staff at Coventry of Cottonwood heights and Brighton Hospice for their compassion, love and help caring for Glenn during the last couple of months.
