After high school I married Claudia Hollstein (class of 69). I attended the U of U for a while but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do and ended up in the Navy a year later. The navy took me to Australia, New Zealand, Viet Nam, and all over the far east. After the navy I tried the U of U again but didn't have the money or patience to stay in school. I worked in construction for a while and ended up becoming a crane operator. Claudia and I had 2 great kids together but later divorced. I ended up running the company I worked for as a crane operator and eventually started my own crane company. I'm now one of the owners of Mountain Crane Service. We have 40 cranes all over the country and have offices in Salt Lake, Detriot, and Las Vegas. I tried being married again but I'm probably too hard to live with. I can't complain because I ended up with 4 great kids. My kids are my best friends and being a dad is my favorite occupation. My youngest son Coleton, lives with me in Herriman and he and work keep me pretty busy. Our favorite things to do these days are boating, riding atvs, scuba diving, hunting, fishing, golfing, camping, and traveling (not necessarily in that order). Looking back it's hard to believe 40 years have gone by. It's sad to see how many classmates are gone and great to see how many have done so well. Creating this web site was a brilliant idea and I appreciate the efforts made in it's creation and maintenance.
It was great seeing you Saturday night. Marshall, too. I had to take off to pick up one of my kids and missed saying goodbye. Don't be a stranger if you have time to take in lunch or a fishing trip to Strawberry or a casual round of golf sometime.
