Donald Earl Sabey "Papa" Donald Earl Sabey was born on July 28th, 1951 to Earl and Viola Sabey in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, November 13, 2006 after a long struggle with a heart condition and diabetes. Don graduated from Hillcrest High School and attended the University of Utah. He had a successful business in the construction industry. He loved to "tinker" and always had a story to tell anyone that would listen. He prided himself on being a walking encyclopedia of little known facts about lesser known things. Don enjoyed looking at life in a different way than most people. His greatest joy was spending time with his two grandsons, whom he loved immensely. He is survived by his daughter, Ambra Dawn (Burke) Sabey-Baker; son, Cody Earl (Emily) Sabey; grandsons, Garrett and Caden; and a granddaughter on the way; sisters, Marilyn Wilson and Dianne (Wayne) Ross; and brother, John (Beverly) Sabey. He is preceded in death by his mother and father. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 18, 2006, at the Midvale Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Condolences can be shared with the family at www.jenkins-soffe.com

Don had a very dry sense of humor. He could make you laugh without ever cracking a smile himself. I think a lot of his jokes were so far out there, we didn't always get it. Don was smart and quirky. I would like to know what happened.
