After graduating from Hillcrest High, I went up to Logan and received my BA degree in Physical Education and taught at Granger High School from 1973-79. It was a good experience, but I got a bit restless for something new. I decided to venture into real estate and was a Realtor from 1979-1988. I tossed in a couple of small self started business for good measure in that span of years. As 1989 approached, I found myself getting restless again (a pattern of mine) and decided to go back to school at SLCC and take some accounting classes, a writing class, and an art class. The writing class was fun, the art class stressful (I'm too left brain), and the accounting classes prepared me for my next
decade of employment as I worked for two companies, one an accounting software company and in the accounting department for another. As the new millennium approached, I found myself getting restless again and wanted a new career. So in 2002 I went back to being self employed and started Money Stream Solutions brokering private real estate and business notes. I found creating the business was more fun than doing the business! In 2005 I went back to a full time real estate agent and that is what I'm currently doing as a Realtor with Miller & Company Real Estate Services.

I stayed active in sports after high school until different body parts just plain gave out. I can still and do enjoy golf and play in as many tournaments as possible during the summer months. I enjoy reading or listening to books. (I have more books on my IPod than I do music). I enjoy playing Texas Hold'em and have played in a couple of tournaments in Las Vegas, the $50 entry fee types. Not ready for the WPT, though, I think I have too many tells!

I enjoy traveling, particularly if it's to the ocean. Manzanita Beach in Oregon and Huntington Beach in California are two of my favorites.

As I have grown older, I find much satisfaction in sitting down with friends or family and simply sharing thoughts, feelings, perspectives or experiences together.

School Story:

I thought I would use this space like a blog - Just random thoughts between now and the reunion or until the 8000 characters are used.

I was sad to see Gordan Smart and Annabel Romero had passed away. I dated Gordan for about a year. I think it was my junior year. He was the sweetest guy. Always thoughtful and kind. Annabel hung out with us from time to time. I don't think she was capable of ever saying an unkind word to anyone or about anyone. We use to tease her a lot I think because we knew she wouldn't throw any digs back
It's been fun reading everybody's profile. There is only one regret I have now when I look back to when I was in high school. Except for the "pack" I ran around with on a regular basis, I wished I had gotten to really know more of you. It's not too late I say. There's the school reunion and I'm not nearly as shy as I was in high school

Also, Jerry Wiseman, I'm sorry I beat you up in elementary school......:(

Remember "Sound of Music"? Kathryn sent this to me. Julie Andrew has updated the lyrics. They seem more meaningful now!! Sing along :)

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cadillac's and cataracts, and hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favourite things..
When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favorite things.
Back pains, confused brains, and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short, shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things
When the joints ache, When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad

I've had a couple of you asked how my brother Terry is doing (class of 67). Some of you may remember him more than me! I know whenever I had a teacher for the first time, I waited for the teacher to put two and two together and asked if I was his sister - always worked in my favor as I knew he was well liked and I never minded riding on his coattail. He is doing very well, married Tamara Wilden (Hillcrest Alum), has four boys (all Hillcrest Alums)! See photo below of his growing family

Seems a lot of memories of choir in the profiles. I did try out for Junior Choir in my sophomore year. This shows how much compassion Mr Dean had. I never could carry a tune, then or now. How he ever let me get in based on my "Row, Row, Row, Your Boat" audition I'll never know. My main reason for wanting to get in is because I heard a rumor that when we would be seniors the
A Cappella choir was going to Hawaii to perform. We never did obviously. I can't remember who sat on either side of me in the alto section, but thanks to you I could stay on key and fly under the radar.
