Lived an incredibly full life. Unbelievable, really. Played in a rock band for a few wasted years, owned a night club, had a television talk show, traveled all over the world, worked in television and film production for years. Not so much riches, but richness!

Graudated University of Utah, B.S. Journalism/Mass Comm.

School Story:

I have so many funny school stories that I wouldn't know where to begin. Comes from not declaring whether my major was in Parking Lot or Briefcase Gang (without the expensive slacks and briefcases).

Parking lot, smoking, racing cars, football, track, fighting Larry DeSpain once a month, more 3 hour auto shop classes than a boy could ever want, tall-neck Coors in Riley Roberts old Chevy.

Valerie Montague (Walker)...Vivian Mattsson...Pam Collins...Robin Loveless...Connie Hansen...Marilyn Miller... and Mr. Schick running out onto the football field and slapping my backside when I tackled someone.

But...forgive me Duane and Brad, two of the most bizarre memories I have of those days is when Duane Peterson drove a carload of us down to 2nd South into the Red Light district one night so we could spray water on the sidewalk "workers" with a stolen fire extinguisher. It was supposed to be a harmless prank. Then, as we laughed until we were sick at the chaotic scene(screaming "workers" running in every direction, "boyfriends" yelling obscenities our way), a car began following us and we fled the scene out onto State Street. At about 75 miles an hour, the chase ended up with the car pulling up along side of us at an intersection and the occupants motioned for us to pull over. When Duane saw that the passenger was casually using a pistol to wave us over, we all screamed at once and Duane jammed it into reverse and began driving madly backwards on State Street at light speed. We managed, through Duane's amazing NASCAR talents, to get away and never tried to "Clean Up Downtown" again.

We were 17 year-olds. Go figure!

And then, there was the day Brad Hokanson and a couple of us decided we were going to sluff school and drive to Las Vegas. We were going to drive to Vegas, have a cup of coffee and turn around for home. It was like a mission to accomplish within a given time. We actually thought we could be back in time for the end of school that day!

Back then, if you remembber, there was no Interstate 15 and after hours of driving, we finally ran out of energy and patience and stopped in Cedar City, had a cup of coffee at a diner and came home.

Gosh, Mike, I just heard the news, got email alerts and messages of condolences about your passing from this web site and rushed to see what in the world happened.

When' are your services scheduled? I need to plant bulbs this week end and time is limited, err, dam. . . sorry, that was insensitive, wasn't it?

I was just cruising through tonight and saw some recent post activity and your name, wanted to say, without hesitation, what an impressive, smart, good-looking woman I've always thought you were, Debbie. I respected you in school and was a bit intimidated, I think, by what I perceived to be one helluva classy, powerful personality parading around as a young high school student. I got a similar vibe from Gwen Nickel, I loved that girl and thought she was something else, funny, tough, crazy, kick your ass-it seemed-if she wanted to, and I'll remain heart-broken she died so young.

But you! You look like the same girl in that recent family photo I always took notice of because 'Debbie has substance, Debbie has smarts, Debbie is. . .geez, sensual?!? and I'm just a high school kid! Help!'

Take care, Debbie, you are so worth it.
