 Caralee was born June 9, 1951 in Vernal, Utah to Lawrence and Venna Bascom. She married Charles Jeppson May 1, 1980 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died July 13, 2006, surrounded by her family. Caralee fought a valiant 2 1/2-year battle with Leukemia, setting an example of courage, determination and grace to all around her.
She was a woman without guile. She had many talents and was known for her distinctive handwriting and calligraphy. She owned her own business (CJ Graphics) and did calligraphy for the "Parade of Homes" for many years. She was an avid quilter and produced many beautiful hand-quilted items for friends and family. Caralee was a loving and caring teacher.
She graduated from BYU with a degree in Social Work and earned a teaching certificate from USU in Special Education. She taught resource students at both Elk Ridge Middle School and Crescent Elementary. She had nearly completed her Master's Degree in Special Education before her illness struck. She had a unique ability to relate with struggling students and had the patience to help them progress academically. In her final report card, her family gives her an "A+" in being a beautiful and loving wife and mother. Caralee was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her life, more than words, bore testimony to her beliefs. She served in many callings including: Boy Scout/Cub Scout programs, Primary, Ward Organist, and as Relief Society President
Caralee is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Mary Anne (currently serving in the Thailand Bangkok Mission) and Emmylee; sons, Dan and Brandon; mother, Venna Bascom; sisters, Susan Kendall (Stephen), Colleen Taylor (Don), Nancy Drake (Tom); brothers, Kim and Lynn Bascom (Tanya). Preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Bascom.
